Hey, everyone. It's been a while since I've made a journal like this. To be honest, it's been a year since I've even done anything on this site. And I hope you can't blame me for that, considering every time I log in, there's always at least one more person asking me:
"Are you doing more Night of the Were-Ed?""Will you make another EEnE comic?""More EEnE art please?"Guys.
Please.
I've moved on.
Night of the Were-Ed is over 10 years old. My EEnE interest has completely waned. And did you guys know I turn 30 years old this year? It's tough, man. It's hard enough for me to keep up in fandoms I like, much less ones I'm not a part of anymore, between my real-life job and my comic work.
Yeah!! I'm still making comics, guys!!!!
My original fantasy webcomic,
Court of Roses , will be celebrating its 1-year anniversary in the first week of February, and I'm super duper proud of the work I've done on it! My own characters, my own story of friendship and music and passion. The current chapter features
the most ambitious illustration I've ever made in my life so far.
I know most of you are here for EEnE. I get it. But I'm asking you to give Court of Roses a chance if you haven't yet. It's a fun romp through a fantasy world, inspired by the likes of D&D, LotR, etc., that follows a ragtag group of bards who may or may not get to solve a murder mystery together! And it's super LGBTQ-friendly! So far of all canon confirmations, one of the main characters is bi, one is a lesbian, and one is non-binary!
I know how hard it can be to get into new things, trust me, I stress out on keeping up and now I'm over 50 episodes behind on Steven Universe lmao, and that's just one example. But if you enjoy my art at all, I ask you to take some time to look into my biggest personal project yet. I'm fairly confident this comic is gonna last for a number of years to come, and I'm putting a lot of blood and sweat and tears and love and good ol' fashioned hard work into it.
In addition, if you want to keep up on my social media, here are some links:
My TwitterCourt of Roses' TwitterMy PatreonMy portfolio website (includes a page with my commission rates! Yes, I'm still taking them, and I've got a special going on through Ko-fi!)
I had a
Tumblr for a great while, and it's still up as far as I can tell, but I'm scarce on there now. After the mass exodus in December, it hasn't been worth any time or effort to maintain.
Sorry if this all sounds harsh for fans of NotWE, or fans of my other fanwork, but after the constant comments and notes and messages asking about, I thought I'd be honest with y'all, and push my webcomic a little more into the spotlight. Because dang nabbit, I work really hard on it, every day! It's hard to maintain a long-form comic that posts twice a week!
Thanks for your time, everyone.
UPDATE: I hadn't realized that... no one realized I was still doing stuff!!!
With that in mind, I've uploaded most of the side and promo art I've done for Court of Roses, and I've also done a massive clean-up of my gallery. A LOT of my old art got moved into Storage, so if you don't see it, that's why. Don't worry, NotWE is still up and available to see!
